Luke Wroblewski has done a lot of invaluable research in important areas of usability that most people don’t have time for. I have several of his books, which always help guide me through decisions about things like – whether or not to left align or top align form label inputs. He has data to back these scenarios up.
A few days ago, Luke did a webinar in conjunction with UserTesting.com, called Mobile Design Now. He talked about the rise and fall of PCs and the skyrocketing of mobile apps, stating that we need to unlearn a lot of things about common design practices that we use today. He had a great story about the Facebook hamburger icon that was created not based on usability but as a way to resolve some performance issues they were having.
Watch the webinar for more on that story and some other insightful info.

Squarelight is everywhere. You see it every day – when you look at your phone; when you are sitting in front of your computer; when you are watching your television. All those photos and designs and interfaces are made up of little pixels of colored light. We can help you shape it.
