I discovered Eyvind Earle on a recent trip to Carmel. I think he lived in the area in his later years as it seemed a lot of the galleries in Carmel carried his work. His early career was as a Disney background artist. His stylized landscapes can be seen in Sleeping Beauty. I love his ability to capture the California landscape in a immediately recognizable but minimalist way. I am now on the hunt for more.
